Joe Kwasniak is a young emerging waterman and has been surrounded by aquatics for his entire life. He grew up spending his summers at the Jersey Shore where he voluntarily trained with the Manasquan Lifeguards on a daily basis. There he learned how to body surf, water ski, surf, and kayak along with many other water sport activities. Joe became a certified American Red Cross Lifeguard at the age of 15 and has been employed as a lifeguard ever since. In addition to lifeguarding Joe teaches swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages. Joe’s specialty is his role as a Water Safety Instructor where he trains and certifies individuals in CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Joe is currently a senior at Great Mills High School in Southern Maryland. Joe is an honor roll student and the 1st place winner of a school wide Geography Bee. Joe is very interested in media production and was awarded 1st place honors during an annual State Leadership and Skills Championship for a project that he participated in. Joe was recently presented with a community service award for acting on his emergency response skills and rescuing a women and her son who were in distress. After Graduation Joe plans on enlisting in the United States Air Force Reserves.
